    Been a while since I posted, so I thought I'd start a thread. :)

I'm always finding it difficult to find new Music Artists I really like. Don't get me wrong, I listen to a lot of music, but recently I've been trying to make an effort to grow the collection of music I listen to.

    So I started searching.

I remembered a search engine that you could use that worked by inputting the name of an artist and the results returned were albums/artists with a similiar music type.

I didn;t manage to find that, but I did find Pandora. And it's better.

Essentially, it's an online radio station who's playlist is made up of your preferences in music.

You type in the name of an artist or track, and this station keeps playing music that sounds kinda similiar.

With the results returned, you can vote whether or not you like the track, na dit will either serve more tracks similiar (If you say you like it) or remove tracks that sound similiar from the playlist.

    Basically, Pandora rocks.

If you like your music, check it out - It will amaze you....

I like music, too. Even more, I was a so called dj, many years ago. Just for fun. Also, I made fiew tracks.

It is very hard to find something motivational in music this days. I think that on 100 albums I find listenable about 2-3. Very frustrating.

Now I listen classical music, and situation is almost same! I find composer, but, often, performed artists are too bad. Only old Decca LPs are good.

Give Pandora a go - I'm really impressed, it takes a while to get each station right, but I've got a few now...

I started the stations off with...

    "The Prodigy" - Dirty Dance
    "James Brown" - Pure Funk
    "Tool" - Metal
    "Square Pusher" - Experimental dance...

And the results are great... Less and less now am I having to say "I don't like this track"...

This station is awesome, and it's an awesome idea and everything about it is awesome...

Who Needs a DJ at parties when you have this ;) :D

Ya, Pandora is really cool, it seems a lot smarter than launch so you get less crap.

Also a site where you can put in a band and see bands similar is http://www.musicplasma.com/

Tried it and wow, didn't even realise Pantera redid cat scratch fever, a bit out of the loop I guess. Better not play to many songs though otherwise my net will cut me off :(

You have to register though after so many songs, and I'm in Canada and they only let people with a valid Zip code register.

    That sucks the big one!!

Just remember 12345 is an actual zip code.

I like pandora, but there are a lot of songs and a few artists that it doesn't have. Most of the big stuff though is there.

No thanks, I'd rather lie. :)

I'm feeling bad today. First I lied on the music site, then I laughed at the electrician who has to come to our house and work on our outside plug in the rain. :D :D

That reminds me...I've seen my dad electrocuted. He must've flown about 10 ft backwards. Scared the crap outta me, but he was alright.

He's a carpenter and his name is Tim, so everybody calls him Tim the Tool Man cause he's just as accident prone as the real Tool Man.

But anyway, it's finished raining and our plug is protected by the roof - so don't worry. I'm not that vicious.
