Not exactly what you're asking for, but the PHOTO STORIES title on:

    http://www.sandrophoto.com/category/photo-stories/

and the placement of the ads below it is in violation of TOS/Policies.

really, that's a violation? It looks good to me. I'm not sure about the targeting, or the niche. I know picture blogs are hard, but it looks like you're doing a good job. Also sometimes to much blending leads to blindness. Maybe make the ads stick out a little more.

Suggest both read the Policies a little closer then...

I will also mention that I do not see a clearly stated Privacy Policy.

I just did blending today, it was quite standing out before... so I'm gonna try blending now and see how it goes. I also added 336 block at the end of the posts.

It's not just a photo blog, it's my portfolio page... and I was trying to keep away from adsense to look it pro - but I need some cash and my day work is suffering, so I decided to catch up with ads.

I just posted the relevant quote from the Policies. You appear to have at least two violations (putting titles directly over ads, and no Privacy Policy)

    and

oh I didn't know about google privacy policy, never heard of it :) but I decided to act quickly,
    is this sufficient?
is it okay to have link at the end of the page, in the footer?

Should be :) That's where most people seem to place the link.

You should put some text ads that would blend with the content and jump in your eyes , somewhere on the left . A link unit near the categories would do well to .

    Salivan,

If you have decent traffic to your site or blog and your AdSense income is low, try the following tips and see how your CTR increases dramatically.

    1. Make your ads visible above the fold. Statistics have proved that ads which are visible without scrolling generates highest clicks. Another reason is that the ads will look like normal web links that visitors are used to click on them. Also the large rectangle ad format has proven to be the highest CTR generator.

    2. Make your ads blend with your site content. Make sure that your ads background and border color are same as your content background. Ad text and URL should have the same color as that of the font color of your ads. And Make the link color to that of your web pages link color.

    3. Make use of set of special comments to tell the Adsense spiders about your main content. This will help AdSense to serve more relevant ads based on your content. And more relevant content means more clicks.

    4. Write keyword rich, grammatically correct juicy posts. This will make people read them and spiders will serve the best ads related to your keywords. Make sure you have some large content. Don't place ads on pages with 2 lines of content.

    5. Make use of custom channels from your Adsense console. Analyze your stats and tweak settings so that you get the highest CTR. Keep records of all the changes you do and measure your results periodically.

Apply these techniques and you will definitely see a dramatic increase in your CTR.
