Low Earning.. is it the site?

hi there,

its been long since i am using adsense..

recently i have added a new website in my adsense account.. the site is on unique Essays, Poems, and Articles.... but i am earning very low from it.. i mean the amount i get per click is very low.. ranging between 0.04$ to 0.09$...

what might be the reason of such a low earning....

any suggestions?

Try to change Placement , Put on right side and see what result.

 

probably, coz of your niche and smart pricing. I got like 50 clicks for just 3 - 5 dollar only.

 

Well, the placement isn't ideal either. Given that layout (which is lovely, by the way) I'd put the ads on the right, below the links on that post 'file under etc.'.

But yea, poems and fiction are notoriously hard to find good ads for, and since targeting is hard, payout and click throughs are also likely to be low. I have a similar problem with my spiritual jokes and stories (which you might like).

But since your site isn't crawled much yet (I could not find the top article in google), this is also simply a low volume problem. You just don't have enough visitors to get a lot of payout yet.

A couple of tips on improving your website:
Make it clear who you are, even if you do stay anonymous, make it clear that this is a conscious choice!
Link only to related websites (a business forum? what on earth would your visitors want to do there?).
Get links to your site from related websites. (mail me in a few months and if your content stays at its current level I will probably link to you myself, for free).

The basics of earning online isn't focusing on earning online. First make sure you have a website that is popular, that is found by search engines, that has recurring visitors. THEN you can focus on improving click through rates and stuff like that.

 

I am not sure but it might be that ads triggered by your content will only pay as much as they do.

Yes, I was a skeptic too, but today my adsense click is worth at least double, maybe triple what it was before I started using it.

well i have changed the ads placement as per the comments received.. also will be linking it with many related site with some link exchange plans...

also wanted to know as to how can i add keywords in my meta tag in this WP blog...

keep a check on keywords you are using, also the content. also do more promotions to get traffic

 

You may want to limit the ad blocks to maximum of 2 per page, this will only show the higher paying ads.
Also, filter out any "best" or "top" sites, which pay very low amounts.

 

I would NOT focus on link exchange as your primary basis for links. The niche you are in will have many sites that are purely based on 'I like putting my stuff online' or 'I like collecting interesting links about stories'. Within that context it is perfectly alright just to mail people with related websites asking whether they like your site. They will link to your site if they like it.

Link to the best of those, but only the best. Show some class (unless of course you want to become a comprehensive directory on this subject - in that case link to those sites that fit your profile, whether or not they link to you).
Your site should NOT look like a link-farm and at your current size you can't afford to link to any sites that are in any way suspect.
Link exchanges are NOT a good basis for link building. Google said that reasonably clearly recently.

well yes i have starting mailing emailer to all my friends and relatives. as for the link exchange thing , yes i will only do link exchange with quality sites...

also my main focus right now would be to add as many content as possible.
