Macs or Pc's

In my personal opinion Macs are thee best computer out there.

All macs only have a screen, whilst the pc has a box and a screen and wires everywhere!

The mac only has 3 wires.

    1. Keyboard
    2. Mouse (mines mighty mouse)
    3. Power lead!

^ Is that amazing? I do certainly think so!!

Now some macs have Intel in it, and its done a lot more than its ever done in a Pc!

    I rest my case!! :p

    Thanks,
    Banana Man!!

i am more of a pc person myself, yeah windows does suck but you can always use the various forms of linux out there which i am pretty sure doesnt have many/any issues with viruses and spyware. Also isnt the mac os based arround the linux os?
I play quite a few games too so a pc is good for me and i find the hardware cheaper too.
They are quite ugly though there are a lot of new pcs out there that are good looking

    Memory: 768 DDR SDRAM
    75 Gig

One of these days I'll upgrade, since there well past 200 Gig now, and they upgraded to Intel. This ones a few years old. Hopefully in a month I'll have a used Apple Laptop from winning the Redscowl Bluesingsky SEO Contest.

NB: OSX = LINUX WITH A GLORIFIED FRONT END

Just to point out Mac OSX also runs faster on a PC than a MAC because Apple dont use all the memory avalable to stop crashes etc..

OSX is much better than Windows but dont be fooled about virus', most people use PC's so more virus' exist for Windows, as soon as more people start using Mac's and Linux you will start to get a lot more problems.

I read something a month or so ago that pointed out that OSX is a lot more prone to attacks than Windows at the moment but the problems havnt been addressed.

All in all in order of preference.

    1. Linux (PC)
    2. OSX (MAC)
    3. Linux (Commodore Amiga 1200)
    4. Windows (PC)

Sadly I still use windows to do work as it is the most friendly to use....

I never had a single problem with xp after using it from the day it was out. MACS? I just want to kick them. My hate for them developed slowly starting from school (IT) with dodgy keys, navigation, menus etc Also just the other day i watched the program where they bought the most powerfull MAC and compared it to a custom built PC they spent half the MACs money on. It was slightly faster in all tests for half the price. Then it turned out that its much harder to get spare parts for MAC etc.

I don't like Apple as a company, they want to limit you to use their OS in their box. I also don't like the iPod because it's so fucking limited. I do like their 'dodgy' keys tough :)

Are Macs becoming more like PC with the new intel chips?
Is Steve Jobs the new Bill Gates?

Me I work mostly on macs: flat screen angle pose style and powerbook for mobile computing.

I use PC's simply because I have more options with a PC than a Mac. I can run Linux,Windows, Dos and other operating systems, if I have too. Personally you should use what ever computer helps you get the job done. If that is a Mac fine, a PC running windows great. Who really cares if it is a Mac or a PC.

I know several Mac users and they often tell me that they are immune to viruses, and I have to remind them that they are not immune, they have just not been a target yet. ZDNET had a story on this a while ago.

I am huge Mac user. My girlfriend complains all the time that the house is litered with them. There are about 12 Macs that are just sitting around, which is what I have after she made me get rid of seven of them.

Out of all the Macs I have had, the Powerbook 15-inch is my favorite. It is one of the best computers I have ever used period.

My second favorite computer is a ShuttleBox XPC that runs Windows2003 Server. I was going to use Linux, but I actually got Windows2003 as part of a promotion at work, so I figured I had to use it. I love being able to use Terminal Services. It's one feature that I absolutely need.

As for which computer to get... well, for desktops, OS X simply gets out of your way and lets you work. If you are going to do web graphics or build web sites, I always start on OS X. I then move on and do most of the maintenance on Windows once the site is up. Windows has a lot of nice text editors and there are tons of little utilities for webmasters that are available only on Windows. XP is pretty stable (once you tweak the registry) but you definitely need anti-spam and anti-virus tools.

I'm waiting for a new Power Mac tower to come out for my new desktop, but I also plan on getting a new Shuttle XPC for a linux server to add for the home network.

Even better - Steve Jobs is the new Walt Disney. With the recent Pixar acquisition Jobs is now Disney's largest shareholder.

I do office work on PCs, but I am most productive on Macs.

show off. Though dont forget macs are not the only computer that can have that, i know amd do the duel core opteron running at 2.2ghz, so if you have enough money you can get 8.8ghz quad processor, and that rather nice screen of yours will run on a pc too.

I've used macs since they came out in the mid '80s. Over the years I've put up with a lot of shit from Apple but updated to every model until my current G5. I'm glad I stayed the distance, since I've seen the frustration that PC users have with viruses and all the dramas Microsoft inflicts on its PC users. They far outweigh the problems that Macs have gone through.

Look at how Macs have evolved and you see innovation at evry turn from usability to design, to applications. Most people don't realize that the graphical interface of modern-day computers originated in Macs. I've been 'pointing and clicking' for over 20 years. Gates ripped off Apple and is now in a developmental cul de sac until his new system hits the streets. Meanwhile Macs will be somewhere else when that day comes. So, PC users will always be a step behind.

Macs could have, should have, perhaps, failed. That they didn't says a lot about the people behind the company and the innovation that they pioneered.

actually apple didnt invent the gui, they ripped off xerox and then ms ripped apple off. I think apple tried to take ms to court but failed as they didnt even invent the concept themselves
