Making a go at being a webmaster pro

I'll be graduating from college in six weeks (THANK GOD!!!) and its time for me to strike out on my own and make a life for myself. I'm kind of planning on going to medical school, but not for awhile. I want to take some time and not play the academic game.

Anyway, I'm planning to move to a beautiful little island in the caribbean where my cost of living will be relativley low. I can't get a job there for a year (until I have residency) and I don't really want a job there because the wages won't allow me to live the way I want to.

So, I want to be a webmaster pro. I have some money saved up, enough for me to live on for quite awhile and around 10K to invest in buying and/or developing websites.

I have one blog right now, and it makes around $100 per month from adsense. Nothing spectacular, but its what I've got to work with. In the next week I'll be starting about five more blogs, so that by the time I actually make my move I'll have six blogs that are all indexed and have a little age to them so I can join payperpost and other networks like that and get a little bit of income off of them.

Now, my question: what direction should I take my business in? The blogs will be good, I know what to do and how to do it, and they'll make me some money, but not enough. I have this 10 grand sitting here, and it needs to go to work for me.

Here are some thoughts of mine:

    1) Build a site that offers incentives to try out products. I have a few ideas for unique things that I could give away as an incentive. This would probably take the bulk (if not all) of my money to put together, so I have some reservations, but I can also see the potential for something to happen right away if I build it and advertise it and get members who refer other members. Thoughts?

    2) Buy some more blogs. A big network of blogs could mean a lot of paid posting activity and affiliate income.

    3) Buy some other websites. I see people doing pretty well with arcades and proxies and so on, but I don't know anything about running them so I've got reservervations about buying one of these. There seem to be a lot out there, which I guess means that they make money, but also seems like promotion would be difficult.

    4) Clickbank e-books? I'm a prolific writer, and can write e-books like crazy. I've tried promoting clickbank products with my blog, but it has never worked for me, so I'm really hesitant to try this out. I'd have to learn how to get affiliates excited about my offer.

I'm hoping some people here can lend me an intellectual hand, i.e. tell me what they think of my various ideas and point me to resources where I can learn more about them. Or give me some other ideas. I'm not afraid to work hard (hey, how hard can the work be when you're sitting on the beach with your laptop?) I just need to figure out the direction I want to go in so that I can make it this way.

(It has been a dream of mine for a long time to live on this island and run websites, and I'm going to live my dream now!)

You should do a search on DP for topics like 'what would you do with 10k?' Because I've noticed several like that this year and most of the professional answers were buying sites and then spending the rest on advertising - advertising it to death. This points out how important advertising is as well.
