Making Clones - How do you make a full-proof contract

I need your valued opinions on this :

Hoe do you make a contract with the client when you develop a clone? I am asking this because I am currently cloning a social networking site. While I signed the contract it just stated the functionalities I have to develop based on the site that is being cloned. Now that site has changed their functionalities, added features etc that was not on the oroginal scope. But I am now being asked to do all the features :-( . The client is not ready to pay extra money. How can I avoid this in future? Adding screenshots of the pages while making the contract? Please suggest. Thank you in advance.

I'm no expert but it seems to me that this should be referring to the time the contract got executed.

Now... the question is if you have any proof of what the site looked around that date.

www.archive.org may help but I doubt they archive often enough.

    Google cache is another hope.

If you get a proof save it somewhere and you can use to fight back. I don't think either one of you benefits from a lawsuit. So lay that out there as well.
