Check out, it is the ads right on top, I don't want to sound cocky or anything, but I think I did a good job, and for some reason, I think that is the ONLY adwords I need, and it'll do its job...I think I almost made MYSELF believe that those are real links and not ads...lol.

Well review it, and give pros/cons, etc!

Haha, yeah I'm working on the traffic, I'm still thinking of a plan on how to market the website cost-effectively.

My question is, should I place another ad on the bottom somewhere?

What pisses me off the most is the actual text "Ads by Google", I wish that would've been one of the text links instead, it is the most clickable one because it is directly on top of the navigation link.

You might want to ad some ad units together with the ad links. Remember you only need one click to earn instead of two.

I don't understand, where would I place the ad units? Wouldn't that create a more spammy look and then make visitors realize that the ad links are "advertisements"? What do you mean by the one click?

How about bottom of the page? Does anybody have any experience with placing ads at the bottom of a forum page? What about having a post with an advertisement like some forums out there do, any success with that?

The biggest issue with the links you're using is that users need to click twice. I've been experimenting with similar links for a while, and the CTR is way lower than for my normal link units.

Why do the users have to click twice? I thought a user is supposed to only click once on adsense and that's it. Why twice?

What do you recommend I do?

when you click on a link in an adsense linkunit, it takes you to a 'results page' much like google search. it does not take you directly to an advertisers site.

Exactly. And you don't earn money untill the user actually clicks (the second click mentioned) on an advertiser link at the 'results page'.

Oh wow, see I'm new, and I didn't know that, that explains the large profit I get per click then. Well, do you all suggest I leave it the way it is? And if not, what size ad, etc should I be using, and where should I place it? What about those ads that people use between posts, are those any good?

So far 15. But, most of these are friends I forced to register and post hehe, but hey, I have to start somewhere right? :)

I also am planning to develop:
    -xslforums.com - XSL related
    -xslforum.com
    -howardtalk.com - Howard Stern related
    -icqforums.com - ICQ chat related

I own all of these domains, yup, I'm big on community forums, they are the fastest to get up there, and the easiest to manage.

FireStorm how can I check that? I've been optimizing for "Sirius Satellite Radio" and "Howard Stern", because I've gotten very good pays per click from that link unit through the "Sirius" links (since those are usually the only keyword the Link Unit displays).

Thanks for the praise 313i :)

Ok, take a look at this:

    http://www.rumorforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=2

At the bottom of the page I put a 728 x 90 text ad. Do you guys/gals think this is effective? I've read several times in the past days that this is the best, because when people read the page they look for the "next"/"previous" links, and they click the advertisement. I've read it on SitePoint and several other forums.

    Give opinions/critiques.
