Managing Incoming Emails between a group?

    Hi,

I run a small business (8 staff) and we have around 50-75 emails a day. We currently just use a 'manual' system where all emails get sent to a generic "sales@" email address. This mailbox gets forwarded to me and if someone else needs to deal with it (billing issue for example) I forward to the relevent persons. Of course this has started to cause a few issues now the business has grown above me "dealing with everything"...These are:

    1) If I forward an email I don't know what the status of this is (i.e. if its completed etc)

    2) No logs of outgoing emails (except sent items).

    3) If I'm out of the office emails can't be dealt with unless I use webmail. I don't want to send to more than 1 person as I don't want 2 people dealing with the same issue.

Any thoughts on what we could use? I don't want to use something overly complicated as I dont think we need that.

I have built a "notes" system which is used on our intranet to deal with issues to do with an order but this is quite basic.

Any thoughts on packages or applications worth looking at would be appreciated. :)

    Thanks
