Sorry, I know this wasn't one of your options, but I would quit school and start my own business. Most IT jobs are going to China and India, and few American companies are going to keep paying engineers or computer scientists $60,000 for a job that someone in China will do for $20,000.

I've heard about engineers who can't even get a job at Walmart because they say their "overqualified." I think having too many degrees can actually hinder you from getting a good job these days.

The real answer is to do what you enjoy. Whatever you enjoy, you will be good at.

"IT salaries are inching up again. Last year, IT salary and bonus levels reached a new peak, surpassing the previous high watermark set in 2001 at the height of the tech boom. The average IT manager made $99,000 and the average staffer $73,000, according to the National IT Salary Survey of more than 10,425 IT professionals conducted by Network Computing and InformationWeek."

I would recommend CS over IT/Commerce because most of the IT/Commerce classes are fluff and are taught by unqualified staff.

I would recommend CS over EE because it seems more applicable in today's world in Canada and the U.S.

I have a masters in IT. I will probably start and MBA over a PhD. The thing is as you get older things start to happen. Younger folks who get paid less can do a better job and eventually you can be squeezed out and make less than you had before. It you want to stay on an upward pay slop in IT you have to move into management. If you are going to work for yourself than forget a master’s degree, keep up to date with current technology.

I will be starting my 3 year Internet Management & Web Design degree this year. It has all i wanted to do. Wooo-hooo!

Master IT/ Commerce sounds quite boring... Go for other options.

What Will said. I think Memymoto's had good advice as well, although I'm not taking it. I could NEVER do the management gig. Too much paper work and meetings.

I've opted to stay technical, and do web development on the side for myself until I can make the move.

P.S. Anybody looking for an apprentice? ;)

Technical Degree (Computers) + Marketting Degree (MBA) are the hottest in India atleast, cant comment about the US OR UK or any other place.

But they are the highest paid here in India. Its a good combination.

I am just about finished my CS BSc. soon myself, and if I were to continue, I would definately get my Electrical Engineering degree, since that interests me alot.

But really, it all does depend on what you want to do with your life!
