At that time I found absolutely no correlation for a "predicting" Datacenter or Datacenter C-Block.

But, as you can see, EVENTUALLY everything just slowly returned to "normal".

You are right Caryl. At the tail end of the period...all the dc's trended into the same results at the end of March...and no set of dc's offered any hints.

So much for that idea.

Just thought of one other idea (my ideas often get shot down) The last big update...in Feb/March lasted 50+ days for the experiment page. Hope this doesn't last that long!

I'm very frustrated by this. I've actually gone through this experiment several times..pretty much from beginning to end. I've semi seriously tracked the increases in links to changes in serps and allinanchor. I went back through the Feb/march updates a couple of times.


This is totally unpredictable! It sucks

And now back to watching!!!!

 

I have to agree with you.

Once I think I start to see a pattern, I come across a slew of sites that don't fit it. The effects seem to be random, at best.

I am starting to think, though, that these effects will stick around and its time to start adapting to them. We need a long poll somewhere that will attempt to correlate what people have seen and done with their sites to try and discern a pattern. WMW is talking a little about LSI (latent semantic indexing) - I have no idea what that even means, though.

You also may wish to understand (if you don't already) bazian logic. In case you don't many believe Ses work on this logic. As I understand it the meaning of a page is not determined by what's on it but rather whats' around it.

 

I was reading up on the LSI stuff about a year ago (Maybe more??) when one of the new patents got released...

It's interesting stuff, and certianly something that's quite good fun to analyse when you can find the tools that allow you to do it.

I would be absoutley amazed if Google weren't taking advantage of this model at the moment.

 

If we are throwing around possible explanations for Google performance over the last couple of years I would have to say that they must have incorporated "chaos theory" into the algorithms.

 

Actually they definately are and have been for sometime. Proof of this can be found be using ~.

~red~shoes You will notice this search yields bolded terms such as footware, sneakers, shoes, feet, etc.

Pay attention to the 'bolded' terms in SERPS. The ~ tells google to look for synonyms. Really I am not sure what this all amounts to but has to have some significance to this thread .

 

During the Feb/March update there was a lot of talk that the LSI semantic stuff had gained prominence in searches.

People are saying it again. Maybe there was some element used in the earlier update and maybe there is more of it now.

Both Caryl and I and others elsewhere noticed more logical serps as it applied to local businesses.

Maybe this is a further roll out of this type of elements in the algos.

And then maybe people are repeating the same things they said then.

Google just took the longest time in years to show changes I made to the page. 10 days after I changed a page title, it shows in google. Usually 48 hours or so. I'm being spidered very heavily, but updates on google are lagging way behind. Something is cookin

The allins are still thoroughly out of whack...though its way to early to make a call on this.

Imagine if these were the readings at the start of the experiment. This update would have ended the initial question posed by Bob and the subsequent efforts. Ironic.

With the comparison on my site the allins are still leading - the allinurl hit 1 and 2 today but the site still is 250 odd...!

 

Ok...finally it is starting to move for me...but note with my site that it was the allinurl that moved up first yesterday and the others [including the serp] showing this morning at:

serp: 32 up from 271
allinurl at 1+2 up from 29 [yesterday, same today]
allintitle up to 10 from 64
allintext up to 9 from 39
allinanchor up to 12 + 13 from 49

but look at the allinanchor ...the second one is to an index page within a directory on the same site.

The only things that I have done since the onset of Jagger is remove my signature on this forum [not important as I did not do the same elsewhere] and spread my incomings with more terms, wider..otherwise I have not changed the page/s
