Well, they still sell cigarettes, too...

I believe that the tabloids are referring to this royal break-up as "Meg-xit"

Vaping is quite a big deal here and most neighbourhoods have at least one specialist vaping store, I'm sure the corner stores are doing ok selling that stuff too. I believe it'll be short-lived profits, there have to medical consequences of putting massive quantities of chemicals into your lungs.

In the context of who is paying a corner store to promote products on the outside of their stores I'd say you have Coca Cola as #1, telcos as #2, with the magazines as "footpath clutter"

I understand why she left the royal family. I feel it was definitely Meghan who wanted to leave, and Harry being her husband fully supported her decision. Being in the royal family comes with so many rules such as not showing your shoulders, not being allowed to be on social media, keeping your nails a subtle shade/length, not speaking about politics, and not being allowed to work. Meghan wasn’t a nobody before she married Harry, she was a well known actress. Once you join the royal family, you have to be ready to give it all up, and I believe that she couldn’t take it anymore. Princess Diana was known to have a total disregard for the rules, which the Queen hated. Harry could clearly see how hard it was for Meghan to deal with the big change, so I don’t blame him for supporting her.

The question I have, do you think their lives are more fulfilled now? If not now, will they be in the years to come?

I sure could put up with a few rules about shoulders, fingernails, etc., to lead a complete life of luxury along with my family. If I needed to do something to be "fulfilled" I would get involved with favorite charities and causes. Acting is a cruel and fickle business. I had never heard of Meghan before she was engaged to Harry, not that I am a celebrity follower. But had she been an A-lister, I probably would have heard of her.

My guess is that Harry, at a minimum, will go back to the safety and security of the royal family in the years ahead. That may be with or without Meghan.

You know, I am beginning to think the opposite. I wonder if he's the driving force behind all of this. Everybody seems to have blamed her, but wasn't he partying pretty much all through his bachelor years? Hanging out with celebrities and stuff? If he wanted to be loyal to the Queen, he would've married some quiet girl and settled down. I am thinking he wants to be out of the royal limelight more than Meghan.

I think that we could both be right on this. Harry certainly blames the royal family for the death of his mother and always evidenced an attitude about it. My thinking, however, is that he may not have a clear path to the standard of living that he has enjoyed all of his life and get tired of "rebelling" after a few years of what could be a much lower standard of living. Of course, it is possible that he can make millions writing books, doing appearances, reality TV, etc., and then he would have a pretty high standard of living but still not what he had as a prince. And it is not clear to me that he is interesting or entertaining enough to be successful with any of those things long term, anyway.

I could eke out $50 million over the rest of my lifetime and experience no great hardship.

As my Dad used to say..."I could retire today and live quite well...as long as I die next Tuesday."

To each their own. I personally couldn’t live a life where I’m being monitored 24/7. Money doesn’t buy happiness. All the money and luxuries in the world doesn’t make up for me not being able to dress how I want, have freedom of speech, go on Instagram, and not wait for the Queen to finish eating her meal before I can eat mine. Also I doubt Harry would go back. He had his scandal years back where he was caught by paparazzi playing strip poker, and got so much flack from his family, especially Queen Elizabeth; the person who most people believed killed Princess Diana. If I was Harry, I wouldn’t go back to a family who killed my own mother. I do suspect that their lives are more fulfilled. Harry and Meghan can finally do as they please without stressing over scandal. Harry already sealed a voice acting deal with Disney for Meghan while she was talking to Beyoncé. They’re definitely doing fine.
