My day job is as a VP of Sales & Marketing. I have used CRM packages since 1994 (me and my sales team back then were beta-testers for the client-server version of Goldmine. Since then I and my sales teams have used other PC-based systems, including ACT! and SME5, and quite a few online CRM packages, including SalesForce, SugarCRM, and Highrise. Have not used any of the Microsoft offerings over the years because they were always way behind in functionality. And they tended to not understand how sales teams work. That may have changed, but you want to be sure about that before jumping in with an MS partner. I would be lurking on CRM forums, including any Microsoft sites to see what is being said. You should also be able to find reviews by some major tech media because it is a regularly covered market.
