Microsoft is in a rush to secure the Windows OS from viruses and malware of all types but there is a problem, the OS has fundamental flaws and IE has un-patched holes in it right now.

Recently we have seen a big push by Microsoft to introduce new anti-spyware software by their acquisition of Giant anti-spyware.

They are also going to provide AV in the future for Windows boxes.

Do you trust Microsoft to deliver secure computing platforms down the road?

Microsoft is investing millions in their current attempt to deliver secure computing via Windows OS, do you think they will eventually succeed?

Please sit down, anthoney. Sit and put your hands in your lap.

I'm going to say this slowly. Don't go ninja on me and flip out and kill people.

Anthoney, when you say you want to be nice to everyone, that has to include Bill Gates.

The only way you can get a microsoft box any where close to secure is to hide it behind a router/firewall that is secure, use a browser that is secure, use an email clent that is secure, never click on a link, etc, etc, etc.

In other words hide it behind a whole bunch of programs that are 100% secure and if just ONE gets missed you could get completly comprimised from the inside.

Some people are already using open scource software (FireFox, OpenOffice, etc) to help protect windows boxes, but writing 100% secure software is near impossible when you can not see the source code of the OS you are writing it for.

As people see how good open source software works even under windows they will be looking at using an open source OS as well.
