    With over one hundred thousand active members, the Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game WORLD OF WARCRAFT has turned into a money-making juggernaut. There are many sites that make a huge amount of money providing in game items/support such as a) game gold sales b) character leveling c) character honor leveling d) selling magic items. One such moneymaking giant is IGE.Com see http://www.1up.com/do/feature?cId=3141815 There are, however, many other lucrative potential areas for monetization: guilds, playing guides, ebooks, you name it.

    For example: why not build a site that helps guild members? How about websites that deal with videogame addiction?

    WoW currently has greater the 5million members now. :)

    If you do the math they are grossing approx. $74,750,000 monthly just from user subscriptions.

    That is awesome. Got any ideas re monetizing this phenomenon through 'value added" services?

    One idea I have is FREE ad-support VENT servers. Ventriloquist servers allow guild members to talk to each other while playing WoW.

    Sell Gold. My son buys gold almost everyday for this game. Sometimes spending as much as $50 a pop. Thotbot.com is also a very popular WoW resource site... there is alot of things one could do to monetize this game....
