Moving home .. most stressful thing you'll do?

Bringing this thread back on track for a second (before it goes back to being a Mella flirting thread again of which we can't have too many ) I do agree with the advice to throw as much as possible away. It just feels so much better having cleared the closets.

 

Oooh! Bucket of cold water you two! Poor old Darren is up to his ears in cardboard boxes and packing tape but do you care? You could at least volunteer to help him wrap his valuables before you hit Le Meridian.

 

Nah the only think ill be wrapping before I hit Le Meridian is my legs around Shawn's waist.

Good luck with the house move. I heard that 11% of people in Scotland are so stressed out with moving house that they vow never to move house again. lol. Not exactly what you wanted to hear.

Good luck, you'll need it! When I moved from England -> Holland I had unpacked boxes laying round the place for months and months after...But thats me - i hate even packing to go on holidays i find it sooo stressful so moving house for me is a bleedin' nightmare!

What I hated most when I was young was when our parents keep transfering residence. The problem doesn't always end at the time you reached your new house but it continues as you try learn, cope and deal with new people and environment..

I feel your pain. I just moved, and will have to move twice more in the next 5 months

But after that, I should be staying put for a while... although thats of no comfort now.

Make sure you update all your address with all of your affliate and ad programs, dont want to miss a check!

Haha best possible advice I can think of.

 

I remember what a pain in the @$$ it was just to move dorm rooms when I was in the Air Force and that was just down the hall. And moving into the house I'm in now was a major nightmare. I'm actually going through everything now and getting rid of anything I don't absolutely need. A lot of stuff is going up on ebay and I'm going to have a huge yard sale this fall. Anyone here collect hotwheels? I've got my entire collection up for sale.

 

If your moving both home and biz, the best piece of advice I can give is be sure to have all your utilities, including phone and Internet access, turned on and tested BEFORE you move in. Depending on your moving schedule make sure to set aside time just for transporting your computer and other important biz equipment or files. This can be before you do everything else, or right after you do everything else (but don't try to squeeze it in the middle...because that's when mishaps are bound to happen).

It is really worth paying any extra costs to do it this way and ensure that things run seemlessly from place to place.

Also.....file backup, file backup, file backup!!!
