Multi-blog CMS platform?

I am looking for a system or wordpress plugin that allows multiple blogs that can be managed by one admin. Let me explain:

We have hundreds of sales reps and want them to each have their own blog that can be managed by us to keep brand standards as far as design and colors. along with the ability of all of them to have their own about us, locations pages, etc. We should be able to manage the header and sidebar but they would only be able to change content and all would use the same template across the board.

We need a starting point (system + plugins) we can design the templates and modify as needed just dont want to start from scratch is all.

Thank you in advance. (we are looking for ideas not so much a miracle system already created)

 

Current thought is Wordpress/BuddyPress ... any thoughts?

Perfect thank you, I didn't realize that the multi-site was setup the way it is and should work great with a few tweaks.

 

Yep, Wordpress MU is great for this purpose.
Wouldn't even think of Joomla
