    I would like to know whether is it possible to use different Content Management System in a single site by installing them in different subdomains for specific purposes.

    Why not?

    I answered to this same question in other forum.

    You can do it in different subdomains or even in different folders.

    Once I installed a CMS to run a virtual shop in a folder within an static website, and another different one to run a forum in another folder in the same domain to ensure security by setting the online shop independent from the forum, while maintaining the home page and a number of sections static to keep them safe from database- and programming-related failures and performance issues for the sake of SEO.

    Yes you can certainly do that in different subdomains, but sometimes it can make your work tedious if you are not an expert at it.
