multiple Domains on one account

Having multiple sites (domains) on one account...
    Does anyone do this?

I have done it but I am feeling like I shouldn't do this anymore...but having accounts with multiple hosting companies doesn't sound practical either.

    What do you all think?

Don't see that that is a bad thing. If your web host gives you the option and ability to host multiple sites on one account, you can always do so. That's the purpose of such accounts anyways.

if it comes at no extra cost its good incase you want to set up another site for any reason in the future.
http://www.pangea-enterprises.net/Hosting do it on some of their better packages + give domains away for free.

Yeah, but that would also mean all your sites share the same bandwidth.

Then again I hear of people that have 20+ sites, I wonder how they manage..

I have 16 sites on the same host. Only 3 are very active though but the thing is it doesnt matter how many sites I host on the same account as long as the bandwidth supports them all. I use a dedicated server (costs much more than a virtual host ($100/month or so)) but its gauranteed I get all the speed I need and I get 1000 Gigabytes a month bandwidth. If your sites dont use up all your bandwidth there is nothing wrong with it and is simply what you should do

It is probably great if you are creating websites for sale. This way you do not need to keep signing up for new accounts each time and spend the money.

I have all my sites on one account, about 13 sites more or less.

And two of them are very popular, it would be a lot harder for me, if they were all seperate, as long as you trust your domain provider and or host, I see no pro blem.

I think it's pretty common and also practical to have multiple domains on the same account. I've always dome this and I don't think there are any bad consequences, with the exception of... If the server goes down then all your sites go down.

I think it just depends on your situation and kind of going through a cost benefit analysis. For example, if you have 2 large sites that each produce a lot of income, then you might want them each running on seperate accounts and servers and possibly didderent hosts. That way, if the worst happens with one, the other shouldn't be affected.

On the other hand, if you have a dozen sites that aren't doing much, it probably isn't worth the extra effort and cost to keep them seperate.

clearly, it goes without saying that if u want to manage many sites in 1 account, you have to manage the bandwidth...
having many sites in 1 account is good and economical...if any site explodes in volume, you can change plan or transfer out some sites.:)

Just want to add one last thing, putting all in one account helps to 'test the water' for new sites, especially if you do not know what the response would be and you can do it with the minimum of cost.

A reseller account allows you to provide separate control panel, bandwidth and emails for your each sites so it doesn't seems like they belong to the same account
