Hey guys, I've got my first customer, jeeeh :)
He has told me that he is interested in the service I offer.
How can I make the payment as smoothly as possible for my customer?
I have a paypal account and would like him to send his money to my account, but what do I need to tell him to do in order to send the money? Is there some standard paypal form I could implement in my website, or do I only need to give him my paypal emailaddress?

    tnx

First of all, Why didn't you think about or have the payment options all planned and worked oout before you made the website live ? etc
    ----------------

PayPal has worked great for me for over 5 years, I have never had one problem. If you own your website and are able to alter the html etc code, PayPal has lots of great 'webmaster tools' that you can place on your website. This easily allows anyone to sign up for paypal, and/or simply click and pay you for your services, products etc.

On one of my sites for software I sell, I have two payment processors, one is paypal. I have a 'click here to buy' paypal button. The customer simply clicks on the button, if they do not have a paypal account, they are shown a link where they can easily join. If they do have a paypal account, they simply fill in there email address they registered with to paypal when joining, the form already has the payment amounts, any shipping etc if figured, etc.
They click and the payment is sent to my paypal account, I then get an email telling me about the order, the customers name, email, etc.

The other payment processor I use is RegSoft, they allow me to accept: checks, money orders, and all credit cards and even fax orders.

    I hope this helps.........

Ok I have used the PayPal webmaster tools to set up a 'pay now button'. It has generated some code and if I paste it into an html page, I have a clickable button. great :)

However, when I click it and login with my paypal account, I need to fill in the following:
    and

What does this mean? I don't really use credit cards that often (read; never), but it has automatically filled in my address. Is this because I have logged in under my personal account, or will every customer see this information?

In other words, has the 'billing' something to do with the customer or the merchant?
Or does this mean that my paypal account as no creditcard attached and that it requests that information in order to complete the transaction?

    thanks for the help guys:)

Sorry to bring up old posts, but this question is closely related to the first post.

I've received my first payment from a customer through paypal. However, I've set up a transaction system with paypal and requested secondary information to make sure the account on my website (for which the user reuests a full membership) matches the PayPal emailaddress. However, I do not receive the secondary fields.

At this point there was no problem since the users' paypal account/email was similar to his membership on my website, but I'm afraid that it will eventually become a problem if someone will register with a completely different websiteaccount and paypalaccount.

Does anyone know why I do not receive the additional information?
