my host suspened my account, wtf man...

my hosting suspended my account.
i offer url redirects, some asshole signed up with beastuality sites and was spamming them so they took my site down. this just sucks, they didnt warn me, or ask me to remove the user from my database, just took the site down.

so anyway it was down all day long, over 8 hours. i feel horrible, my traffic was hovering around 10k hits a day and 65,000+ redirects a day. plus now i have to find a new host and move all the domains and change all the dns. AND i have to hire someone to reinstall the scripts on my site. this F'ing sucks.

the guy didnt understand what url redirection was and thought i had purposly made beastuality sites and spammed them.

i need a well known webhost that UNDERSTANDS the situations that may arise while hosting a site like mine. its a free service and every wacko on the net has access to create a redirect so its kinda hard to screen these people.

anyone have some ideas?

 

Doesn't really matter.. they needed to cover their arse... I know lots of webhosts have stopped selling to people who provide free-hosting services because of issues like this.

Not sure why you think they should jeopardize their business for the price of your monthly payment.

I would suggest before starting it up again you add some controls to your system so your own business is not jeopardized like this in the future.

 

well, a phonecall or some sort of warning would have been nice.
ALSO, i asked about this very situation BEFORE i siged up and they said:
"no, no, we will never just take your site down, we will certinly contact you and try to work out the problem before your site is taken down"

i knew this was going to happen. and how exactly would you say i screen these people? its impossible for me to check everyones account before they signup, im getting 100+ new signups a day. oh well...
