My mom has a huge osteoporosis blog. How can she monetize it?

I think you should put disclaimer on your website otherwise you might have a problem with Medical and Pharma guys. They don't like websites where people claim that they can do something without pills and chemicals.

Perhaps above and beyond what super rich guy said rather than affiliate programs and uncontrollable ads like Adsense you could research some thing your Mum would be comfortable with and if the affiliate thing is not something she would be comfortble with maybe seek some sort of deal with something special thta is fitting and benefical to the site and it's viewers.

Have you ever thought about writing a ebook with the methods you used? You can sell the ebook through your site and clickbank. I know a couple of people that does that and is making a lot of money. But of course your methods have to work if you want to make a lot of sales.

I would start off with Google Adsense and Amazon. Both are easy to implement and you can test which does better. Adsense usually does well in the medical niche that the cost of clicks is decently high. Like someone earlier on said, if there's any physical products/supplements she recommends, more than likely it's on Amazon. If not, it might be possible to check into with the certain company about any kind of affiliate program.

It's a good place to start with these two, then you can always check into other forms as well.

 

Does she have an optin form on her website? If she does then can monetize it pretty quick. If she does not then selling ad for ppc ppm or some other form doesn't sound too bad.

You won't get spammy ads but you will get advertisements that are relevant to the content she posts, and advertisers who pay well because they care about the sites they are advertising and they want them to be a success. That's probably the best way for you to go.

 

Like someone else said, she should definitely create an ebook with all her tips about nutrition. She could also create a free ebook in order to build an email list and then create a larger product that she could then sell to that list. Start with the list since she's getting so many visitors per month.

 

Your mom can sign up for Google AdSense program and place Google ads

The second way is much smarter in my opinion!
She needs to build an email list. For that purpose signing up
to some of the autoresponder services is a must.
If she has so much knowledge about the topic she can
create a product with tips for resolving some kind of a problem.

That includes ebooks, videos, webinars ...
The best way is to offer a free product in exchange for
visitors name and email address (everything is working
automatically if an autoresponder code is installed on a site).

In the end trust is very important factor. If people trust your mother
they will gladly and easily give names and email addresses
for a free product. And then she can offer some paid product in follow up
emails!

i would advice to publish it on her website! Since there are so many visitors, you would be able to get the people that already support your mom's website to get this information first. (This would make them feel privileged) In addition, you could try to put in a section on her website that would allow her to gather her supporters email. This way, whenever you have new information or new products, you can directly contact them.
After which, you could probably ask your subscribers to become your affiliates! They can sell your mom's product on her behalf. The logic is since they have benefited from your mom's kind advice, they would be the best evidence that it works! So by allowing them to sell your mom's products, they can not only help more people, but also earn some money.
