My site was hacked

Hi everybody,
I doscovered today that my website http://edbergcorner.free.fr was hacked by someone.

I don't have control of the password and the databases located under that domain. I would like to know if and how I can take back control of the website and how I can prevent this from happening in the future.

you can't get into your control panel? or FTP? If not, contact your hosting providor.

 

Yes, contact the host, and be certain to change all your login credentials (and write them down) and avoid using unencrypted wifi if you have used it in the past.

Pick a new password that is a mix of numbers and letters (six or more characters), and if your host supports it, mix the letters between upper and lower case.

This advice is all from experience

 

My hosting provider is free.fr. Unfortunately I can't access the files on the server via ftp and I'm afraid I've lost all of the data that were contained in the MySQL database tables.

Do you still think that, contacting the provider, I can at least regain possess of the URL?

You might as well give it a try. Whats the worst that could happen?

 

You will have to try with your host. There is really nothing DP members can do to help. Wish you the best with your response from the host. Good luck...

 

if they are a good host then they will have a backup.
