Hey, well i don't now what to do.
I experiment with google ads couple of weeks.
I try and try and well ... poor me :(

    My site is http://www.guistyles.com

    Today , 930 unique visits and clicks .... hehe 10 :(

Well i start channels, remove the ads that nobody clicks , even experiment to remove all the list for filters to see what happend (maybe better targeting with the default )

And what .... 1000 unique and less clicks.

Well , maybe you professionals would have a idea how to help me :)
    Any advices ?

There are 2 things about your site that detract from it...

    1. The pop-up - I hate popups and so does google.
    2. You have the site pulling from a university account/server, and this is really slow for me even though I have broadband. It's just slow, Id recommend doing some hosting at godaddy or somewhere.

Try putting ads at the top of each post - you should be able to do this by putting the ad code in your post template file.

I've just closed the window... 5 seconds with the white page, without loading anything... That's a real turnoff...

    He well :p

I use free urlforwarding from domain to real address university server.

I will bought a server but now i search a good hosting company.

Pop ups is from url forwarding , and that is all.

Nothing from you about ads people.

Try puting ads in the right nav too.

Doesn't look like context matching really agrees with your site... :\

    ok my opinion..

get rid of the banner below the "welcome on guistyles" images, i think most people would skip that and that's why one doesn't know exactly what's the page about (and the images look very forced to match the banner), now instead of that, use a vertical banner on the right side, maybe between the sidenotes and the recent comments, match colors, now the square ad at the bottom, try putting it between the first and second note.

oh one more thing.. i also think the page looks too long, maybe reduce the number of main notes and on the side instead of "10 of the most popular this and that" reduce it to 5.

i hope that can be helpful :) let me know

p.s. you definitely you need speed there!!! get a better server!!! in surpasshosting have a plan of 50 dollars a year and it's good space and good transfer (or look for other, but i trust them :) )

One thing about your site on dial-up - won't load. I waited for nearly a minute then just gave up.

So in other words you've wasted a bunch of great people's time? You have illegal pop-ups, url forwarding and crap for content and worse yet for ethics. Or am I misjuding?

You logo Welcome to Gui Styles is not needed from my point of view, I would delete it and add horizontal banner after each post.

A technique I use for my own site is to try to imagine how Google is going to spider my page and determine what Adsense ads to display, and if those ads are relevant to the content, and if those ads are going to be of interest to visitors to that page. I look at all the text on the page and try to decide if Google can determine what the page is about -- and how it will determine which ads to display. My CTRs are, on average, in the low-medium xx% range, with many pages in the high xx% range.

When i looked at your home page, doing that excercise was difficult. It was hard to determine what the page was about, and how Google would figure out what type of ads to display. I suggest creating some text on the page that describes what the site is about, using some repeated keywords or phrases, and then use section targeting to restrict Goggle to looking at only that content.

Get rid of the frame based layout fast if you want to get indexed.

Plus like the others said get rid of the pop up.
