You only ever get out of life what you put in it and believe me I know that hard work pays off. You want something out of life, you're going to have to work hard to get there. Treat this as a real business, if your not and you think your going to make a ton of money go and throw a bucket of icey water over your head to wake yourself up. Never get lazy and be super focused on your long term goals, let them be the driving force of your success.

We can all say that though I don't think I know a lot about something untill I step back and just listen to myself for 5 minutes or talk to someone who has no ideas about online business.

once you have your goals, don't forget about setting up some time lines to achieve them (due dates)... nothing drivers action more than a due date.

Great tips and thanks for the swift kick in the you know where! I tend to procrastinate, but have gotten much better in this area. A reminder to keep it moving is always good advice.

Very inspiring. I have businesses that are the standard brick and mortar type but now I am trying online business. Great to read that the lessons I learned there are applicable here as well. I think the only thing I can add is that it's easier if you don't go at this alone. I'm not saying you need a partner in your business, I'm saying the best way to get ahead is to have a good network of friends, mentors, advisers who can help you out. You may be smart, but you will be smarter if you leverage (and also help) other people. Thanks Seqqa for the post.

Here are 10 quick tips for creating wealth, freedom, and personal satisfaction all at the same time based on my own experiences growing Men With Pens:

    1. Spend time thinking over your creative ideas and invest in careful planning.
    2. Decide the goals and vision that matter to you most. Write it down and read it often.
    3. Know your goal for now, and know where you want to be for each year to come.
    4. Work on one idea at a time. Never splatter out with many ideas. It’s overwhelming.
    5. Establish a dotted line of steps to reach short-, medium- and long-term goals.
    6. Make sure your dotted lines look like one line and not a spider’s web of tangles.
    7. Decide how much personal investment you are willing to give—now and in the future.
    8. Determine your life/work balance and make conscious effort to maintain it.
    9. Revisit your vision and plan for business every three months. Adjust to fit.
    10. Have a safety net and a Plan B for every potential obstacle you meet.

Building a business on the Internet takes time, a good plan, and a solid foundation. But it’s not necessarily about chasing the next big thing. Just realize that the true opportunities aren’t passing you by, no matter how fast the clock ticks in the virtual world.

I started a site called newpcgadgets to sell my own product ideas. It has done really well for a small startup.

I invite anyone to my dofollow blog about business and going for your dream and passion. I do delete and mark comments as spam if it's a stupid generic comment. I've been through all the ups and downs of following my dreams to do what I love. It is VERY hard, but it's also rewarding. If it was easy, everyone would be rich. One of my favorite quotes is "If you are not willing to risk the unusual, you will have to settle for the ordinary.". My blog is http://www.anthonytori.com. It's good to have a place where you can talk to other people about going for your dream. Most people around you WILL put you down and tell you how stupid your idea is. 99% of the time it's people who are too scared to do what they are passionate about.
