My Web Hosting Provider has increased their rates. In fact, they have doubled them. Can anyone recommend a good and economical web hosting provider?

This is what they do. Those greedy pigs. It is their usual tactic to increase their revenue.
I suggest you pay a visit to webhostingtalk.com. Its a forum dedicated to web hosting and there are hundreds and thousands of web hosts selling their services and trust me when ever you feel your are paying too much for hosting it is time to move on.
If they are telling you that your sites are using too much cpu resources just move on. Because I can tell you no matter how much you pay them in the end they will tell you to buy their dedicated servers. This blackmailing won't stop ever.

I'll throw a good word in for Liquidweb, haven't disappointed us yet, have been with us through the good and the bad times and the rates have gone down rather than increased since we signed up

I'm with InMotion Hosting and they have been incredible with their customer service. 24 x 7 I can get any help that I need. Prices are quite reasonable too! I've had no downtime with them in the year that I have used them.

I also hear a lot of great things about BlueHost, haven't tried them myself yet though.

What the problem that they double up the rate? web hosting is become cheaper and cheaper. Maybe is really is a time to change it . Get a new hosting for yourself. It so compatible for web hosting right now. By the way, you know that digital point is a place that cannot self promote so you do need for yourself in every user signature then bring you to. Wish you get a cheap hosting and reliable.

Try Dreamhost with coupon codes. Dreamhost has few advantages than others.

    - No iNode limit.
    - No account suspend without any alert.
    - You can change server to any other of their by your own.

    What else you need?

    Hi complete,
If you are in the UK or Europe, justhost.com are excellent, really nice cpanel, one server outage in 7 months, otherwise as mentioned Hostgator are excellent too.

Do not use Go daddy, there site is horrible, very unintuitive and confusing, especially if you are new, and, as I found out recently on this very forum the CEO of this company shoots elephants for fun, sorry to hijack your thread with this.

It is advisable to pay just a little for the best hosting services, the last thing you need is server problems, G will hit your sites for this even though there is nothing you can do to help it.
