wow thanks theres a lot of variety there. I was pondering over getting vbulletin or mybb....have you ever switched over from one to the other, if so, did you find it was an easy transition?

I quite like the chunky icons in mybb.......

do you know if there is a blog rss feed plugin like we have in here, to get your latest post to display next to your username?

    Thanks

I used to use MyBB. It's a nice little "light" version of vBulletin IMO.

I however didn't feel safe enough and swapped over to vBulletin. Didn't look back since ;)

I used mybb on the two forums I owned. I was very pleased and never had a problem. I no longer own the forums but as far as free, mybb is one of the best.

Can I also just add that I don't know what mybb security is actually like, I just felt more safer with a established forum software provider.

I haven't tried myBB. All my forum sites are powered by SMF. I tried phpBB but I don't like it so I removed all sites with phpBB. If I want another forum software, I will go for vBulletin though it's not free.

Let me check on this matter with people from SMF. They have a lively forum discussing on various forum softwares.

Well, MyBB is much less used than vB, so it would be exploited far less than vB anyway.

The security for vB will of course be stronger in vb 3.7, but same goes with MyBB 1.4
