Is it worth making trying to advertise a content site via myspace?

Myspace is about building potential qualified leads based on trust in my opinion. The days of signing up as some hot supermodel and pretending to be some sexy girl looking for fun is over, at least I don't get those friend requests anymore.

If you build a reputation with the friends you add, target the correct audience and sell when the time is right and you have gained status as a superior in your niche, then you should dominate Myspace Marketing.

I was informed to take my niche to my space for marketing so I figure I'll give it a try and see what happens. Keep you informed on this idea.

I pretty much would have to say that advertising via myspace is basically dead. Everyone on there now spams and it has got saturated.

You have to bear in mind that myspace has been making efforts to eradicate spam, and all links go through a redirect, and a warning that the link may be spam and a virus.

and the first time someone see's it, they can choose to ignore it forever after that... that msplinks isnt as big a hold up as some ppl think... if it was no redirect, and the productivity is 100%, the redirect may take you down to 95% at the most.. and thats a stretch

It really all depends on your niche and how you market it. The quality of traffic through myspace does not convert very well though. Usually around .5% CTR.

it depends on your site the common theme on myspace is geared to a certain group of people so it can be hard . But if you have allot of friends that are real then yes it could work but I haven't tried it because I am in a differnet market

I try to use both Facebook and Myspace in the same way. I put the same content on both and a set aside a little time to friend people and keep up with new contents/sharing links/comments. I think it's a bad idea to cut either off completely.

Think of your MySpace page as a blog. It can be done as such if you do it right.

Treat your readers as friends to whom you are passing along good info to.

If you do it right, and the page is good, word of mouth will start.

Also ask your present visitors to spread the word too.
