So recently MySpace has updated their search engine and even changed the logo to "A place to search" anyone think they can provide any real competition? The engine is actually good.

My sites rank well that engine btw :D

Don’t think so they have separate market they are going after. Myspace needs better search capabilities for networking purposes.

I think one day someone will challenge Google. However, I don't think Myspace is capable of pulling it off.

I've heard people say the same things about Netscape, Alta-Vista, Yahoo, IBM, etc etc... It's wrong. Everyone on top eventually tumbles. Especially in the world of technology.

I don't think google will be able to buy myspace, they are owned by News corp now.

Absolutely! This would be the perfect opportunity for Microsoft to take a big chunck of market share. Now that Myspace has moved to the #1 most visited site on the Interent. How easy would it be for Myspace to cut a deal with Microsoft that moves the search box from the top of the pages to a featured position within each page using MSN. We all know from all the Myspace turnkeys floating around that the audience loves to click ads.
