MySpace deleted my account

Discussion in 'Social Networks' started by gder01, Apr 18, 2007.

I had an account that used no bots. Everything was hand added. I made an extremely real looking profile. I never sent any spam, or bulletins.

Every week, I would post a message that attracted men, and would get many friend requests. That is how I built up my base.

I had about 500 friends, and 4k profile views over the span of 2 months.

Recently, I noticed my email getting clogged up w/ all these emails from myspace "you have new messages ..." etc.. I couldn't figure out how to stop it, (that myspace control panel is effing confusing) so I just switched my email on myspace to a non existing email.

So I figured, some non existing email address will get all these emails.
I dont remember if I logged in after I made the switch, I am pretty sure I did. Anyway, a few days later, I log in again, and can't. I then asked my friend if the chick is on his friends list, and he said "she is gone".

What happened? I wass gunna make some sweet $ from this fake profile! :(

MySpace has been cracking down HEAVILY on what THEY think to be fraudulent accounts. Did you borrow someone else's profile at all. I mean any piece of someone else's? Maybe someone reported your profile as being a fake one because they tried IMing you and you did no respond or something. I don't know I am just grasping at straws here but one thing I do know for sure. MySpace sued Joseph Tierney and Michelle McPhearson for creating and selling software that created fake accounts and built up their friends list automatically. Even SpaceStation went down. Now there is no more SpacePromoter, BadderAdder or SpaceStation. They were really neat pieces of software that made MySpace marketing a whole lot easier. :(

I ripped some hot pictures off of someone's photo bucket album.
I would get tons of private messages, and would never reply. I used to delet them, but eventually there were just too many. (maybe 30+ pages of messages).

My profile, looked extremely genuine though. I mean my friends had a hard time believe it was spam.

    Oh well. :(

Yeah netpox, but these friends were actually targeted and worth something. Gder, just forget about it and move on. It couldn't have been making that much cash, and if it was - you can do it again.

500 is nothing, you can get 500 friends in two days with one of those many, many bots out there. Myspace does not know what they are doing at this point; it is officially out of control. I have had several accounts deleted with 20,000+ friends on them. But some of my accounts with heavy bulletin posting and e-mail delivery through bots have not been touched in over a year, so they don't really have a good sense of how to deal with these problems anymore.

Sorry about your account, but just start a new one and use a bot and you will be back on track in the next couple of days.

myspace deleted a previous account i had for no reason. search google for "myspace deleted my account" and heaps of people have the same prob. must be a bug myspace has. the annoying thing is that you cannot sign up with that same email address anymore. you need a new email address to signup again.

I am curious as to how this works. I can understand getting so many friends, so that you get more traffic. But where exactly does the money portion come in? Do you sell ads/links? Put your site up there so users can see it?

I'm just curious. Post back with an answer if willing. No need to if you are busy though.

WRONG, the bots are dead for the most part. MySpace shut all the sites down. Not only that but if you tried to add a ton of friends on a new account, those would surely be deleted too. If you make more than 10 actions a day they flag your a** (an exaggeration visa vie my frustration)

to the OP, I wonder if your account was compromised in some way...it wasn't phished was it?

well, im not sad about 500 friends. I am sad about all the work I put into the profile; ie making sure this girl looked super real.

I have a fake male account, and I get ton's of friends requests and messages from "hot girls". However, it is soooo obviouse that it is spam that I don't think twice when deleting.

Anyway, maybe I posted some racy message or picture, and got busted, I'm not sure.

Well, I guess ill start over.

    an emphatic NO!!

you basically have no recourse if they flat out delete an account...they'll give you the lame song and dance(canned answer)..."accounts are deleted for several reasons

    1) spam
    2) porn
    3) b/c we felt like it BIOTCH!
    4) any or all of the above"

I get the impression they're taking the shoot now and ask questions later attitude. If they keep it up, they're going to lose a lot of users.

As far as I know the sites were taken down, but I heard nothing of them being sued. Have any proof?

I had not spammed a single person. The only thing I was doing was making personal ads, saying "him I am lonely, someone talk to me" and accepting all the ppl.

I would make an ad about 1nce a week.

Side comment: myspace is freaken funny. I just don't understand how ppl can be so in aw of it. I just don't see how ppl can spend time on it for extended periods of time, all you can do is talk to complete strangers!
