I'm a little curious on if any of you have had any success with marketing on Myspace.com and if so what really works? How much did you spend etc.

Have never figured a MySpace strategy out. Always feel like I should be able to, but no luck... Would also be really interested in hearing from others...

The only strategy I've seen that's actually successful involves making a cool profile and interacting with others to get them interested in your stuff. In other words, hard work is a good strategy :)

The thing now is one wrong move and Myspace will delete your account. It doesn't even have to be a "wrong" move per se, because it seems accounts are randomly deleted sometimes.

Then all the spam on there is just annoying and requires more of your time to fight it. (Unless you're planning on phishing accounts and spamming...)

theres alot better ways to get visitors to your site than myspace. And myspace doesn't give your site any Search engine weight because all links go through a mps redirect.

I don't think there is really that much to really market on myspace unless your a singer or a band .

So, what *is* working in terms of social bookmarking strategies?

    Anything?

Myspace marketing still works with anything adult or semi adult. Never advertise porn on Myspace though. Link to a semi adult video (no nudity) on your profile and on the video page put a link to an adult program. I've had over $15 CPM from this method.

PM me if you want to learn more. :)

I used Myspace heavily for proxy advertising. My best advice is to create as many accounts as you can, then use your favorite myspace messenger / friend adder and macro it to send messages until captcha is reached, then switch to another account. On an account with more then 10 friends you can usually send 20 - 30 messages before you get a captcha. I use around 500 accounts to send around 10,000 messages. Once captcha is reached on an account it will last (regardless of login or logout) for around 12 - 14 hours.

captcha is th biggest hurdle in myspace marketing.

MTbiker pretty much said it all.

Think about it...you are in front of your computer, hitting up one member after another, after another, after another, after another....

On top of that, you have to have something really cool, or something that they can really use in order for word of mouth to kick in.

    In other words...MySpace is overrated.

If you manage run myspace marketing in the proper way, it will bring you huge profits. But at the beginning, it is time consuming, you need to spend some time to create multiple profiles and add friends. All about building relationship within network.
