MySpace Traffic to your Site

I am thinking of starting a new MySpace profile to just add people to, and one I have enough I would post bulletin, comments, and blogs linking to my websites for traffic. However, how reliable is MySpace traffic? And how many friends do you think you would need to actually make a profile worth-while?

Myspace brings interesting traffic. They become loyal depending on how compelling you actual site is.

You will need at least 30,000 people.

30,000 isn't as bad as I thought. I thought you would need at least 200,000 to make the amount of traffic worthwhile.

Depends on the quality of friends and how much you genuinely communicate with them.

Well it's difficult to keep in touch with tens of thousands of friends.

I scored over 150 referrals for an online poker site, only had 4,500 myspace members which were mostly poker players.

That's not too bad, especially for only 4,500 friends. How did you advertise the site(comment, added to your profile, bulletin, etc...).

From my experience its better then social networking traffic. More percentage of them would convert to returning visitors if they like your site.

myspace just breeds spam. i wouldnt advise using it as a marketing tool any more. concentrate on the new generation of social networking - bookmarking on facebook for example. just don't advertise on facebook.

I recently had someone on DP post a bulletin about a Myspace Layouts site, the bulletin went out to 30,000 users and i only got 32 visitors according to my awstats page, so you may need a lot more than 30,000 maybe more like 300,000
