Get a host with Fantastico and you have many scripts like Joomla at your disposal.

There are several things to consider when choosing a CMS. And while features are important, it is just as important to consider the stability of the project, how easy will it be to grow with the software, what is the upgrade path offered as you build your site.

There are many OS CMS choices and someone did mention opensourceCMS.com as a resource to review a variety of projects in one place. I would also encourage you to narrow your search to the top three to five then install them locally on your computer to really see them up close and personal.

There are a few systems that shine above the rest but it depends on your needs. If you are going for a simple content site then consider Joomla or WebSiteBaker. If you need a robust, flexible tool out of the box then look into PostNuke and Drupal.

Finally, check to see if there is a support network for the application in addition to professional support.

    Good luck

    Vanessa
