    My favourite is:
    Photoshop Top Secret 5 DVD set - many easy to follow tutorials. It's currently sold out though so you can join the waiting list or I believe there are warez version on the web you can download until you can buy a copy.

    I would first learn about photoshop by messing around in it clicking on stuff. Its really the best way to learn. For advance techniques there are many good tuturials you can find on google about photoshop

    I don't thing that you need a book. You can find on the internet thousands of tutorials that can teach you everything you need to know. One of the best websites is good-tutorials.com
    Also video tutorials are very good in learning.
