Need a Notebook Recommendation

I think my Compaq Presario 2200 is dying and need to look into a replacement. I need one that can handle being turned on all the time and is suitable for a lot of webdesign stuff - file transfers and what-not. Any recommendations would be great!

My presario seemed ok but I haven't even had it a year yet.

Mac Intel -- hands down. I won't suggest any other notebook to anyone really. It's got all the benefits of unix and the slick design of a mac and the out-performance of windows.

I highly recommend you get a mac, especially if you want to focus on web design.

My problem with a MAC is that I have accumulated a large amount of software for windows based things. I really dont have a clue about MAC stuff. Will any of my other software run with it?

I'm using a Dell Latitude D800 at the moment.

It's a sturdy system with good global support.

Most software should be backwards compatable. I am in the same situation as you though, I have been windows all my life, but my next notebook will DEFINITELY be a mac intel. I think they are the only way to go these days -- specifically with the graphic design/web design industry.

yeah dont waste money, buy a mac.

and regarding windows software, yes you can continue using it on the new mac intel. in fact, there is now a contest -i`d love to win those $6000- about to determine the fastest and simplest way to install both systems ( tiger os x and windows crappy xp) on the new macbookpro (latest mac notebook)
