Need ad placement help!

Please rate my ad placement, because I'm somewhat new at this:
    http://www.learn-networking.com/eth...ht-through-crossover-and-rollover-cables.html

As you can tell, the ad is on the bottom. My problem is that I do not want to put ads in the actual content, because it would interfere with the learning process I am trying to provide. I tried an ad on the right of the content, but it just seemed awkward.

The only place I thought about putting it other than where it's at is where the "digg this!" icon is, and I want to keep that there.

    Help!

Either ads interfere with your content or they don't get clicked. It is as simple as that. Try putting a large rectangle aligned right or left, text will float around it. Or put banner before the article text.

I think I'll try to put in an ad like the one I have, only divide the content in half with it.

    Thanks for the tips :)

Yeah I tried that, but I don't want to take attention away from the digg button.

Thanks for the suggestion though :).

I'm not going to change anything just yet though, because there is still a lot of traffic coming to the site and I want to see how things work out.

I would reconsider. A quick glance only shows an ad at the bottom. I would at least put an add at the top, or better yet, in the content itself.

Alright I'll put an ad in the content somehow, and try to make it not conflict with the learning process.

Like I said, can't do anything just yet because I'm still getting a lot of traffic from digg and stumbleupon.

Which in my opinion, is all the more reason for you to get your ads in now. Why miss on the extra cash flow, right? As long as you blend it in well you'll be just fine.

That's true. But I'm not concerned with profit at the moment. And plus, I need "bad" placement statistics to compare to for future enhancements :)

Horizontal link units at top and bottom might do well on this site.

I thought that too. I'll update my ad placement in a few days and have you guys review it again ;)

Pretty good, but I would place the border color the same as background - just to look as a part of content :)

I don't like it. People are probably going to be too focused on the article to stop and look at ads in the middle. I'd suggest near the top navigation, between the article and quiz, and after the quiz.

well seems like the vertical banners are working!

I got $10 so far today with a great CTR.

I'll play around with horizontal ads on other articles and see how they perform :D
