Guys i wanna promote on of my site. Currently it has pr4 but in next update i want high traffic with atleast pr7 on it. My current budget would be $1.5k/month . Suggest me what would be the best way to gain the PR7 + Traffic on site.

Advertising in newletters I find is good for generating traffic though obviously not PR (unless they have archives). I'm sure you could get some high PR links within your budget, but I wouldn't be that bothered about PR. If you build traffic links will come naturally which would boost your PR also.

    sound advice.

At the end of the day if you want a successful, high traffic website its all about getting your site advertised and not about getting pagerank.

you could spend $500 a month on high pr links but would it bring traffic?
you could spend $100 advertising on a pr3 related site and get tonnes of traffic.

i would much rather buy 2 $750 related high traffic ad links then buy 10 pr 7 links since traffic is more important then pr.

Totally depends on the subject of your site, I look for newletters that have a 100,000+ distribution list and generally get 5,000 - 10,000 visitors from them and by having a newletter of my own some of those will become repeat visitors.

The way I see it, having a higher PR ranking will not increase your traffic, unless the keywords your site concentrates on are highly searched for keywords, and the competition for those keywords is low.
My PR went up, but the traffic to my site at http://sheet-music.8k.com did not increase. I am now concentrating more on highly searched for keywords, with low competition from other sheet music sites.

    cheers

I've tried in a couple of newsletters so far, one of them cost me 300USD, went to 120,000 subscribers and also included a PR6 link.

Another one to look at is www.lockergnome.com, they have various high readership newsletters but they can be pricey to advertise on. I'm fortunate to have dealt with the owner Chris Pirillo in the past and was able to get a free plug :)
