    Need help..

I had a text file (.txt) and I saved it.
Next thing I know, I go to open it up and its a MS-DOS file and I can t open it?
    How can fix this?
Or how can I open it so I can retrieve what I saved.

    Thanks.

Try reading that file directly using notepad.
    Launch notepad, FILE> OPEN...
Browse to the file and click open.
If you see the contents of that file, then save it elsewhere "WITHOUT" typing the extension this time. It will be saved as .TXT by default.

Try renaming it with a .TXT extension.
I just saved a huge text file with that extension and it opened completely in notepad.
You can also use wordpad or ms-word.

I also clearly remember that once I recieved a virus with that extension.

What program were you using when you saved it???...

If you got MS Word see if you can *Import it* maybe it will open correctly...

Or try *WordPad* and when you go to open it look at the bottom of the window for "Files of Type:" and change that to MS-Dos format, heck try them all and see if it will open...
