Need help with editing website template (Flash)

Discussion in 'Photoshop' started by tlbuckingham, Apr 11, 2007.

I recently purchased a website template for my business and I am currently in the process of editing but I am having trouble with editing the Flash Buttons and Flash Intro of my site http://www.sohosolutions.info

I am using Dreamweaver, Flash, and Fireworks 8 (I imported the flash movie into Flash 8 and I know which buttons I want to edit but don't know where to begin). I would be able to send the movie to anyone that could help me but would really like to learn this myself.

    Thanks,
    Tim.

Okay I was able to edit the text but now what happens is when I test the movie my text shows up but the old text is still displayed underneath mine in white. Any clue what might be causing this.

    did you get it fixed?
I don't see the buttons that you're referring to

    also, who designed your site?
I don't mean to sound mean but it's pretty horrible
I've never SEEN a pixelated flash site before!
how the heck did they manage that?
design it in photoshop and import (badly) into flash???
    yikes!

let me know if you're still having trouble with the buttons

Okay I am still beating my head against the wall on this one. I got the template from template monster awhile back. I am trying to edit the Business.Company text and after reading I was able to be now the old text shows behind it. I know its something simple but can't figure it out.

Okay I think I got it. There were other symbols with the same text (I had to change my background color to see them. Thanks to those that pointed me in the right direction.

You have to edit the buttons an txts in their original movieclip instances, for example, if button 1 is in your main stage you have to edit it in the library, that way, that same button will be changed all over the site.

Double click it until you get to the source, then edit it.
