    Get your mitts on a list of the 100 most searched for keywords across the internet over the last year. Winnow out the obvious five minute wonders (e.g. the MJ trial), and anything that is either illegal, immoral or idiotic and then see what tickles your fancy.

    Make sure you are able to enjoy what your site topic is about. If you don't enjoy it then how will you be able to put your all into it. Unless you are a corporate giant or have corporate plans to make it a visible financial machine. Basically, planning to build it to a level of high performance or the large network scale or planning to build it to a level that you can sell it to a big business website for a escaleted profit.

    How about a site/forum where fense-riders can chat and share ideas(or lack there-of) with each other.
