Here is my problem. I transfered transparent png icon to photoshop.

The edges don't look good because icon most likely was created on the light background and I need to use it on the dark background.

Can someone tell me how to blur edges of the icon to blend it in with the dark background?

    I use Photoshop 9.0 CS2

    Thanks

I think the fastest two ways are this:

    1) Blur Tool. It's under the R hot key menu. It's like a brush but instead of painting, it apples blur to the place you're "painting". You can change the size, the intensity etc.

    2) Make a small selection that contains only the outline of the icon, select a feather of 0.5px or so and apply a blur filter like Garrison Blur of 1-2 pixels depending on the image size.

I hope this helps ya ;)
