Need review for ad placement - Humor site

Discussion in 'Placement / Reviews / Examples' started by lyndonmaxewell, Mar 26, 2007.

I just moved my blog towards the line of humor/ entertainment and blogging related, and have so far went ahead with the ad placement as seen. CTR is about 0.3% for daily page impressions of 200. Any suggestions on better placement for my site? Or, is it okay with the way I place them so far?

    Thanks for any help.

I like your site, the layout and the design ... also I think you already blend your ads very well. My suggestion is just move your 120x600 ads above the "recent reader" menu, so that user could see it when they open your website.

Btw, I think you misplaced one of the paper art title "Give me a hand, will you?"

Maybe try making the title in each ad white to match the links on the blog.

Maybe get a few more clicks this way as they would look like the links on the site?

I feel that your ads should have some colors. Experiment using channel and monitor to see what colors get a better CTR. Overall you seems to do it correctly.

Really? I have heard from others to actually match the normal text color so that it blends in.

Thanks, I was looking to see what I need to improve on regarding the placement. :D And, I thought it would have been better to blend in the ads with the site so that they don't stand out.

Thanks for the suggestions so far!

I second the idea of adding a bit of color to the ads, so that they stand out and your users will more likely click on them.

Any suggestions on colors to use? Should I keep the background blended in in black, or must it be distinct? How about the links?

Well, how is your current CTR? I still think you should experiment the ads with other colors but with black background, you have only a few choices. I have seen yellow color with black background and believe it will help. Do use the adsense channel to monitor when trying out different ads colors.
