Need some pointers

I've just started this site, and I've read about where to place ads but I would like to hear from others if the placement is maximized for my site layout. Any and all help/pointers would be highly appreciated.

ad placement alone won't get you good earning. Put some more content. Also either enclose the small button ad from side and bottom with text or replace it with a banner or large rectangle.
you can put an adlink below your navigation bar.

Not bad placement, you may find the following section of my site useful:

Also I totally agree with Jack, you really need more content. I recommend you focus on building content and links and getting a steady flow of traffic before concentrating on optimizing the ads :)

Thanks for the advice, I'm working on adding more content and I changed the ad box to the rectangle, and added an ad below the nav bar as suggested.
    Thanks!

I've found from my sites that a block advert placed above the article is quite effective.

I dunno if you're interested but you could try and change the layout to the picture below. Sorry about the quality, I quickly edited it in Paint!

Also you'd obviously want to change the color of the ad links to orange.

Anyway I hope you find my suggestion useful :)

Since the Holiday weekend my stats went down hill, I made a lot less than I was making. Now today after the holiday I've had 115+ page views and I have not had a single click, and I usually have 25+ clicks. The ad placement has not changed. What's going on?

So wait - you're CTR has got a lot worse since the weekend? I suggest you wait a little longer to see if it's just you being unlucky or the stats have infact decreased.

Minimum period I'd suggest is a week.
