Yes !! you can reduce Outlook PST files size by splitting them into smaller parts. Try " SysTools Split PST software" that helps you to split large and heavy PST files size into smaller parts . The software creates NEW PST for each spitted files and you can save them at your own location. By using the tool you can divide PST file by - Date, Year, Folder and by Size.

Try Free demo version that allows you to split 50 emails from Outlook. You can also check reliability and stability of the tool before purchase.

Some simple steps you need to follow :-

    1. Install and download PST File
    2. Select option - ANSI or Unicode
    3. Select Split option by which you want to split - Date, Year, Folder, Size.
    4. Browse largest PST file which you want to split
    5. Select destination where you want to keep spitted files
    6. Click on Split to complete the process.

You can reduce PST file size by using Compact feature of MS Outlook.
To know how to use Outlook Compact feature, read this blog: How to safely compress an oversized PST file?
    Blog URL http://semnaitik.wordpress.com/2013/06/17/how-to-safely-compress-an-oversized-pst-file/
You can also try a third-party tool for compressing PST file size. I can recommend here SysInfoTools PST Compress & Compact tool. Try its free demo version first.
    Thanks.

Reduce the size of an Outlook Data File (.pst)
If you delete items from an Outlook Data File (.pst), the file is automatically compacted in the background when you’re not using your computer and Outlook is running. You can also manually start the compact command immediately. It might take several minutes to compact an Outlook Data File (.pst).

    1. Delete any items that you do not want to keep.
    2. Open the Folder List view. At the bottom of the Navigation Pane, click the Folder List icon or press CTRL+6.
    3. In the Navigation Pane, right-click the Deleted Items folder, and then click Empty Folder.
    4. Click the File tab.
    5. Click Account Settings, and then click Account Settings.
    6. On the Data Files tab, click the data file that you want to compact, and then click Settings.
    7. Click Compact Now.

Compressing or compacting PST file reduces its size and secures it from getting corrupted. ANSI PST file has a limitation of only 2 GB. Follow the instructions given in the article to reduce the size of Outlook PST file -
