Need Your Advice On Advertising Rates

Since re-launching the site in late November, traffic has been picking up and we are finally at a point where we can ask for some advertising dollars. I was wondering if you guys can chime in and give me some ideas of what's a fair price to charge on a monthly basis (please don't post some ridiculous amount like $10...I saw that in another thread and it's not helpful). Here are the details:

Traffic Stats: So far this month were are getting ~2,700 visits/day and ~15,000 page views/day (webalizer shows 33,600/day).

I can target traffic for specific activities/themes such as these: http://www.planjam.com/thingstodo.html

We have about 100,000 activities/restaurants in total with a review page set up for each (ads can be targeted to any specific activity or area). Here is an example of a review page: http://www.planjam.com/review/37/106


Traffic has been growing at about 65%/month over the past 5 months. I have not done any PPC campaigns since we first started in June, but we stopped after a few weeks.

BTW, if anyone is interested in selling advertising for us...we would be more than happy to allocate a percentage of the ad sales to you.

I would imagine about $80 for a text link
CPM about $4. For a graphic banner, try $150 a month

I would refer you to my ad network, publisher.freedomofads.com, which gives 100% revenue to you, but we have few advertisers atm

Your site looks very professional... and has a lot of good functionality.
Therefore, your advertising rates will reflect your professionalism.

On the other hand, it's doesn't appear yet that you have any advertisers.

It's hard to give an estimate without seeing how the ads will be displayed. I suggest offering "premium listings" to the "spots" that get displayed higher on the list.

Anyway... $150/month for targeted advertisement is a good place to start.

 

With your traffic climbing at the rate you mention I would not sell the ads too far out, unless you negotiate a rise in price, for greater traffic delivered.

Don't let anyone tell you it can't be done...everything is negotiable.
