So, Let's just say (For instance) that I have found a site that would be happy to give me a PR8 link on their homepage (For a relativly small fee).

Now, that should give my site a PR7 on the home page and PR6 on the internal pages...

How much do you think people would pay for a site-wide linking plan?

A link on every page of the site (50+ pages, all SEO related and quite well written).

Not too sure about doing this, so if you guys think that it isn't worth my while, I'll take your advice.

Cheers for the suggestions and help in advance.

a PR8 link alone may not be enough to bring you to a PR7.

as far as what you could get out of it, try looking at some link exchange auction sites, or even ebay.

The site is currently a high PR5 so I think it should get to a 7?

I've been to look at a few auction sites and that's the reason I'm now asking you guys...

It's all well and good seeing what people are asking for, but unless you know what people are willing to offer, you might just get it alkl wrong and end up wasting your money.

I'm not sure you should offer site wides, I've seen some people saying that it can tip off google that you are selling links for PR. Maybe offer them only on a few of the pages.

    Good suggestion hdpt00!

I'll bear (!?sp.?) that in mind... ;)

How would G find that out though?

    They would need spies surely...

They wouldn't care about it all that much - not just one site...

Also they use algorithm changes to filter sites that are spamming (Which technically is what this is) so even if they did find out, they wouldn't hand pick my site for a penalty.

They would have to find a way to filter out hyperlinks (Which as Compar once pointed out to me) just is not possible (Not yet at least).

To find sitewide links wouldn't be hard. They could track the changes in the link sover time, see if they are on topic etc. A lot of big sites were slammed for selling. Doing site wides is something I would just not risk with an established site. If it is a throwaway domain for affiliate marketing or something, I wouldn't be afraid then.

Great, they know I'm doing site wides, but what would they do about it?

If I ever did site wides it would definetly be on-topic. In fact I wouldn't link out to a site that was off-topic. (I don't think I have !?!)

Why do you even care about PR? What is it about PR that makes everyone so nuts? Is it the trophy status of having a high pr site? Just Curious.

PR is one factor in determining SERPS.

    SERPS bring traffic.

Traffic, if utilized correctly, can bring money.

    Money brings beer.

PR is all about beer. :)

I don't care about PR. I care about using PR to sell links.

PR (IMO) doesn't do anything to SERP's. It only gets you spidered mopre often.

Like the chain of thought though Will ;)
