Your ad placement looks pretty much as good as it can be... I voted 8 though because of the different widths between the top adsense banner ad and the design.. it looks fine though

 

i vote 5...cause of the image ad

 

It looks like Matt Cutt's blog .

The ad placement is ok...you may use ads within posts too, but that would make it look like a MFA.

I don't understand what is wrong with image ads??

One thing I know about image ads is .... they give high $$ . And the reason of images ads to be high paying is that people pay more for images ads in their Adwords campaign.

 

I gave the ad placement on your site a 3 because of the image
Ad header and the image Ad DIRECTLY below it. They are the same Ad when I pull up your website. Doesn't look good.
Now maybe sometimes each Ad shows a different image but it didn't when I went there.
The text Ads look fine.

The top ad is image ad and the one just below the top ad is not image... it is text_image. So sometimes to shows text and sometimes it shows image.

So you think that I should make second link as 'text' only?

Yes, I would make the second Ad a text only requirement because I just went to your site again and it showed it as text and it looked VERY nice.

 

my vote was 7 . if you add one square ads unit above the comments section, my vote will be 10

 

Ahh....thats great idea. I have thought for it earlier. As only 3 text/image ads allowed per page and Top section gets max clicks.....So I place two ads on top and one on right (navigation area)

Can you suggest how to do it.... i mean which ad should I move to above comment area?

My blog is webmaster related blog and webmasters are blind to ads.

Frankly, I don't think by putting adsense in that way can bring me better clicks.

Specially, the square on in main body.

I may be wrong but this is from my experiments and experience.

Would, but you clicked. And if that was tricky for you, it will be tricky for others. I will vote him 8 just right now

 

There are basically two reasons for which I used image ads as header. (1) People tend to click them and (2) they (image ads) brings more $$ than text links.

I may be wrong to some people

 

I'd move the second smaller image ad at the top further down the page and blend it with a post. Both ad units were showing the same advert when I looked at your page which was kind of confusing.

One other thing, your hostgator affiliate link was directly competing with the two image ads, which were both for fasthosts.co.uk -- again kind of confusing!

(Perhaps I'm just easily confused )

 

My vote was 6. My reccomendations would be to remove the 2nd advertisiment banner, it just doesnt fit in. Apart from that, nice work. Good luck with it

 

Clicked on the header also by accident . Thought it would take me back to the main page; it was some weird ad that looked like a banner...

I would wrap a square box around the text. I think that improves CTR dramatically.

image ads are bad because they stand out as ads and generally use as ads, so people tend not to click on them...
