The worst landing I've ever had was in Malta (small Mediterranean island and country that used to be under British Commonwealth rule). That place was crazy to land. The runway was worse than the potholes in some small towns in Geaorgia. I thought the plane was about to tip over, no lie. When we've finally exited the plane, I felt like doing what the pope always does, kissing the ground.

That's the main Airport for me. Yes.... there is this crazy wind that comes through the mountains. If you want to try a really bad one fly into Lake Tahoe (not Reno) one day.

Flying is not that bad, I fly 3 days a week and don't think about it to much. Smaller airport do bother me though.

    Worse small airports

Chanute Johnson, KS - Chanute (they really should close this one)
Altoona, PA - Martinsburg (when you land, you think your going to hit side of the mountain)
New Bedford, MA - New Bedford (take off and landing the runway ends at a cemetery entrance that slopes up big hill, your like 25 feet above the grave stones, to spooky for me)
Dillon, MT - Dillon (really! watch out for the pot holes)

    Worse biggest airport

Atlanta, GA - Atlanta (don't ever get caught in holding pattern, to many dam human made birds flying in a too small area)

    Best airport

T.F. Green, RI - Providence (express flights to any where in the world + easy in and out no matter what time of day)

Where I live the planes land on the only street on are little island...

What kills me is that you can't smoke for hours. Everytime I fly, I freak out over that. So if you see me on the news over throwing an air rage fit ... you'll know why ;)

Try landing in Genoa coming from London or the north in general.

Until the very last minute you'll feel as if the aeroplane is going to land...in the water!
    Then suddenly the airstrip shows...:)

Anyway, flying with the European low cost airlines is quite an experience, so cheap but so tight, I feel like I could explode sometime, I already went very close!

Luckily, I ain't big, very luckily in that case!:D

    I know it's not a big deal, it's only a 3 hour flight. I will probably take a benadryl or something ;)

Take it 1/2 hour before you board. You'll be OUT as soon as they start pumping that oxygen in.

I always fall asleep on the runway.

    See!

Flying really is far safer than driving. Check out some of the statistics on the following pages:

The difference is you can live through 5 car accidents without being harmed more than a scratch or two... crash in a plane and what are the odds of surviving at all?

I hate flying. I've only flown twice and both times I thought the take off would be the worst part.. but it was during mid-flight when the plane had TURBULENCE and started shaking.. talk about scary!

I know it probably wont help erase your fear, but it will kind of answer your question. Please see below. :)
So basically you have a much less likely chance of ever getting into the situation of having to survive a plane crash. You can also see this page under the "Crashing into Terrain?" section and the safety features employed by some of today's aircraft to help people survive in the event of a plane going down.

Sounds like my first car. It was an old truck that shook all the time. I should have called it car turbulence.

Actually the airlines should just be truthful to people and intead of calling it turbulence they should say "the plane is shaking like crazy right now"

Better yet do they even need to say anything at all? I mean everyone knows the whole plane is barely being held together and it's about to fall apart at any moment. There's no such thing as turbulence.:D

    Happy flying everyone.
