I noticed a new (at least to me) Adsense format at www.seoroundtable.com a little earlier today.

Has anyone else seen this format anywhere?

I wish Google would open up more format options to the middle of the pack revenue generators. It would only increase revenue for them and us wouldn't it?

So, when we follow your advice, we will get banned! Because I think it is against the TOS to have an animated arrow next to the ads pointing to them.

They most likely got approval from adsense for the banner based on the article posted by GuyFromChicago .

I am not saying for you to do it. I am saying that is how you do it.

Im sure he has permission to do it. Actually Iknow a lot of people that have been able to do some neat adsense things. The thing is you gotta email google and ask if its ok.

I am not sure I really comprehend their policy on such things as this. Why is it okay for some people to have eye-catching and distracting adsense backgrounds and not others? I don't really get the difference. What is the reason why everyone can't do it, I guess is a better question.

If there is some reason why it is bad, then I would think those reasons would likely be applicable even if you got more impressions every month. I guess I don't see how impressions change reality. I also wonder how advertisers feel about it.

I understand why they do it, I just don't understand the lack of logic in the policy.

I agree. I don't get it either. I would think by now that adsense would make it easier for publishers to integrate the ads into their websites.

Ok I will explain it. Basically any premium publisher can do whatever they want then show it to google and get the ok.

    OR

They can goto google and say hey I want to have animated backgrounds in my adsense ads and google will probably let them test it.

Seroundtable im sure is doing the later...

Now DO NOT buy into all that BS about you have to have x many hits to be a premium publisher. Yes you need to have good traffic but I got special tools WAY before I was anywhere close to 20 million pageviews a month. I do not know seroundtable traffic but guessing he is no where near that as well.

Also you dont have to be premium to do special adsense stuff. You can get "custom" accounts. Again just email google tell them what you want to do. I mean you need to be driving quite a bit of traffic but I think you will be suprised how easy google is to work with on this stuff.
