New ebay business - INDIA - guidance needed

Hi Everybody,

I am keen on starting a new ebay business . I have couple of brand new pen drives and some other stuff (which may sell easily on ebay) lying around and I would first like to try my luck with pen drives and see how this works out.

Though I have read a lot about how ebay works in the past and also looked up the new PaisaPay thing now, I am still a bit fuzzy about some details , like :
- How do I ship stuff (esp intra-country) - will courier work, or will I have to use the registered post or something.
- If I am dealing fairly and delivering things in good condition and in timely fashion, how can I ensure I am not scammed by a buyer by refunds, negative feedback.

Apart from this, I would really appreciate if you people could give me tips on how to go about it.

maybe by starting to buy something on ebay and let you receive that product you can track how postage from another country to your country, India..

any how i have been ordering few products from ebay in the recent.. and i have been gathering the courier company's name and phones in my diary... if you need any help let me know .. i shall share.!

First of all you can sell at two place to get more visitors for your pen drive auctions. One is on ebay.in and other directly on ebay.com, where you will have an access of rest of the world other than India. So study the market properly like check the 1 cent auctions which are selling out for pen drives in both the sites. Check the number of times, a seller is re-listing his fixed price auction of a pen drive to actually get it sold.

Also if your item gets sold, then keep contacting the buyer from the very next moment. If possible try giving a call to the buyer and be friendly so that he believes that you are a genuine seller, even if you are NEW at selling.

 

If you want to start Ebay business 1st thing you should do is do research on products which you want to sell. To sell your product you should use different technique like free shipping, discount etc.. Next thing is you should create paypal account, read terms and condition of Ebay and not to forget you should also learn about costs of selling on Ebay i.e. listing fee, a final value fee etc...

You should also use feedback system for your product, this will not only increase your sales but will also help you to improve you selling technique. Another technique which you can use to sell your product is affiliate program.

Regarding shipping you should use cheapest carrier.

sorry guys the major obstacle in your way on ebay is your customs. I work with a couple Indian sellers and have learned it to be best for the local market. unless you are close to the customs office in Mumbai. They are slow and a pain.
