So, what do all you Mac geeks think of the new iMac??!

    Newer iMac
    $1,699.00
    Processor: 2.1GHz PowerPC G5
    Hard-drive: 250GB
    Memory: 512MB of 533MHz DDR2 SDRAM (PC2-4200), supports up to 2.5GB

    Last iMac.
    $1,799.00
    Processor: 2.0GHz PowerPC G5
    Hard-drive: 250GB
Memory: 512MB PC3200 (400MHz) DDR SDRAM, supports up to 2GB

    And the other add-ons.

What I always want the most is more hard-drive space, and this upgrade didn't give that! Instead it gave a lower price and better Memory (DDR to DDR2)/increased speed!!! I don't care about the home media stuff! Da last time I watched TV was when I lived in da hospital.

Mac needs to get a faster processor for me to switch. I love my AMD. But, I would buy an apple laptop in a heartbeat.

I love my home iMac. It's light years better than the PC I use at the office.

OSX + (Firefox OR Safari OR IE OR Any other browser) + fast internet conection + iBook G3 with 384mb RAM = slow computer as hell.. it can't even surf on internet in a decent speed :(

My PC with IE was like 20 times faster

Interesting, latehorn, because my experience is just the opposite. My home iMac uses both Safari and IE on cable modem (OS 10.3). My office Compaq uses IE on an ultra-fast DSL connection (with Windows XP). Yet the iMac is noticeably faster online than the PC.

I'm not technically savvy enough to say why. That's just my personal experience. And I'm not in the "Mac forever!" camp. As noted above, I use both Macs and PCs. The iMac is just much faster.
